Insights into leadership heritability
New results help to unlock the empirical puzzle of when the heritability for leadership emergence kicks in. CORD Associate Director Ulrich T Jensen and Justin M. Stritch from ASU School of Public Affairs collaborated with CORD Affiliate Christoffer Florczak, Robert Klemmensen, and Stig Hebbelstrup Rye Rasmussen to investigate the influence of genetics on leader role occupancy over time using the Danish Twin Registry from Syddansk Universitet - University of Southern Denmark. Their analysis contributes to leadership scholarship with insights into how institutionalized pressure from labor market structures, particularly as individuals enter the workforce, might prompt genetic predisposition for leadership to manifest.
