CORD Fellows co-organize for sustainable collaboration at PMRC

CORD Fellows Danbi Seo (Arizona State University) and Trui Steen (KU Leuven Public Governance Institute) co-organized a session on "The Sustainability Over Time of Collaborative Networks" for the Public Management Research Conference (PMRC)

Danbi, Trui, and colleagues enjoyed an insightful discussion with other PMRC attendees on factors related to sustainable collaboration:

  • Long-term effects and outcomes of collaboration;
  • Capacity building by public organizations, civil society, and citizens for engaging in collaboration;
  • Learning through success and failures;
  • Organizational and leadership conditions for setting up, implementing, and sustaining collaboration; and
  • The challenge of deferred gains versus ongoing investments in collaboration.

They were joined by Stephan Page (University of Washington), Melissa Stone (University of Minnesota), Léon Acar (Ghent University & KU Leuven), and Bram Verschuere (Ghent University) for presentation of scholarship on the temporal dimension and sustainability of collaboration and co-production.
