Shabidul (Russell) Hassan

Shahidul (Russell) Hassan (hassan.125@osu.edu) is assistant professor of Public Management at the John Glenn College of Public Affairs (The Ohio State University). He received his Ph.D. in Public Administration and Policy from the State University of New York, Albany. His current research focuses on the role of managerial practices in improving motivation, commitment and performance of public sector employees. His research works have appeared in journals such as the Journal of Public Administration Research and Theory, Journal of Leadership and Organization Studies, Public Administration Review, and International Public Management Journal. His research has been recognized with national awards including the Carlo Masini Award for innovative scholarship and the Charles H. Levine Award for the best conference paper at the Academy of Management. He is a member of the editorial board for the International Public Management Journal and American Review of Public Administration. He is currently serving as the treasurer for the Academy of Management Public & Nonprofit Division and communications secretary for the International Research Society for Public Management.
