Megumi Watanabe

Megumi Watanabe is an Associate Professor in the Office of University Strategy at Hiroshima University [HU], Japan. She is in charge of various projects related to the implementation of global strategies. One of her central tasks has been to work with HU’s partner universities in the United States and promote faculty and student exchange. Watanabe holds a Ph.D. (2015) in sociology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Her research focuses primarily on work environments and diversity issues in academia. She has conducted research on social networks, work-family integration, and perceptions of work climate among university faculty with the goal of increasing the representation of women professors. Her current research projects include investigations of work-life integration and participation in international research activities among academics in Japan.
