Bretschneider joins CORD, School of Public Affairs
Dr. Stuart Bretschneider will be joining ASU's School of Public Affairs and the Center for Organization Research and Design in fall 2015. One of the most eminent scholars in public administration, Bretschneider will serve as Foundation Professor.
He is currently director of the Center for Technology and Information Policy at the Maxwell School at Syracuse University, where he promoted the integration of computer and information management into the curriculum at Syracuse and more broadly within the scholarship of public administration.
His expertise includes e-government, e-democracy, public management information systems, forecasting and decision making in public organizations, and evaluation of environmental policy. He was director and past president of the International Institute of Forecasting and served as associate editor for the International Journal of Forecasting. Bretschneider was also managing editor of the Journal of Public Administration Research and Theory.
Bretschneider is widely recognized as one of the most prolific and productive academic mentors in public administration. In 2014 he was the inaugural winner of the NASPAA/ASPA Duncombe award for graduate teaching and mentoring.
He holds a Ph.D. in public administration from The Ohio State University.
