Mary K. Feeney joins ASU from the University of Illinois at Chicago, where she was an associate professor in public administration. Her research focuses on public and nonprofit management, sector comparisons, public values, and science and technology policy. She is currently working on research investigating technology use in municipal governments.

Feeney is the book review editor for the Journal of Public Administration Research & Theory and serves on the editorial boards for Public Administration Review, American Review of Public Administration, and Public Performance & Management Review.

She has published more than 35 journal articles in public administration, higher education, and science and technology policy. Feeney has two books: Nonprofit Organizations & Civil Society in the United States with Kelly LeRoux (Routledge, 2014) and Rules and Red Tape: A Prism for Public Administration Theory and Researchwith Barry Bozeman (ME Sharpe, 2011). She holds a PhD in public administration and policy from the University of Georgia, an MPP from Rutgers University, and a BS in political science from the University of Wyoming.
