Research and Teaching Interests
The questions that fascinate me sit at the confluence of strategy, innovation and globalization. I teach in each of these areas and explore these questions in three inter-twined research streams. The first examines inter-organizational relationships including issues of partner selection, the structuring and governance of relationships, and their performance implication. The second examines the diffusion of knowledge across firms, industries and regions. The third examines the impact of national institutions on the first two streams, with a particular focus on Japan’s economic and institutional environment. A smaller stream of papers examines methodological issues in management research.
