Ensuring your city is in the green – webinar Aug. 10

Local governments always have a keen eye on ensuring financials are “in the green”. But an emerging focus is looking at the environmental and cost impacts the current local government procurement practices have, and innovating our approaches to encourage positive changes for our future.

OVERVIEW

Many local governments have sustainability strategies and plans, but not very many have ones that successfully affect procurement policies. In June 2017, Arizona State University researchers released “Advancing Green Purchasing in Local Governments,” an analysis of the current state of “green” purchasing in local government and the best practices from around the country from those leading the way and achieving sustainable outcomes.

Join the Alliance for Innovation with a panel of Arizona State University professors Stuart Bretschneider, Justin Stritch, Lily Hsueh, and Marina Estrella from the City of Phoenix, on August 10, for a live learning session.
